Exclusively for You: Chapter 11

Chapter 11: Jin Shiwen, we stop here.

✧༝┉˚*❋ ❋*˚┉༝✧

After Song Li took off her wedding dress, she didn't change back into her own clothes.

She wore a set of golden velvet little black dress, with a square neckline and long sleeves, which were very elegant, which Jin Shiwen had specially prepared for her.

Originally, Song Li wanted to go home quietly, but his assistant persuaded her repeatedly, saying that they had already informed their business partners, and she was on her way. If she didn't show up, Jin Shiwen would lose face.

After all, she had been raised by the Jin family. Song Li didn't want to cause any trouble for Jin Shiwen's business. She understood the situation, wasn't unreasonable, and knew what to do in different situations.

Perhaps that's why Jin Shiwen liked to take her out for social events. She had a beautiful face and a great figure. She obediently followed him and never contradicted him.

Having such a girlfriend, which man wouldn't envy?

The assistant drove Song Li to the hotel.

At the crowded intersection, their car brushed past a military green Wrangler on the two-lane road.

But Song Li sat in the car with half-closed eyes and didn't look out of the window.

The assistant drove the car to Yuelai Hotel and led Song Li inside.

Yuelai was the most high-end hotel group in Nan Yi, with a magnificent European palace-style decor. Crystal chandeliers were intricate, and it was splendid with gold and gems. It was also the place where Jin Shiwen's mother had booked the engagement banquet.

On the fourth floor, when Song Li arrived, Jin Shiwen was chatting and laughing with the person in charge of the Sheng family.

Except for the waitstaff, the hundred-square-meter elegant room had a large round table for fifteen people. Only two people sat at it, both in suits and leather shoes, holding wine glasses at each end, facing each other from a distance.

Jin Shiwen introduced her as his fiancée.

It's strange that men in the business world rarely use the word "girlfriend," as if they think it's not classy.

"This beautiful and fair-skinned fiancée, in terms of enjoyment, it has to be Mr. Jin!" Chen Geng jokingly raised his glass, standing up. "As a newcomer, would you like a glass, Miss Song?"

He had a full figure and appeared to be in his middle age. He had the typical beer belly of a man in authority, and his white shirt strained at the seams, hair was sparse, oiled and combed neatly.

He spoke smoothly, and without revealing any emotion, he used his small eyes to scan Song Li from head to toe.

Song Li felt a wave of disgust and quietly moved behind Jin Shiwen.

"She's not a big drinker," Jin Shiwen said with a smile. "She might have to settle for a glass of juice, Mr. Chen."

Chen Geng had a hard time accepting this. "What kind of talk is that? How about just half a glass?"

Pushing any further was pointless. Jin Shiwen looked at Song Li and said softly, "How about having a little?"

His accommodating tone made Song Li consider Jin Shiwen's face, and she reluctantly replied with a soft "yes" as she accepted the glass of wine he offered.

Chen Geng raised his glass with a cheerful smile. "Miss Song, I'll drink for you, as you wish."

Song Li furrowed her brow and drank the half glass of red wine.

"Shiwen..."

The red wine irritated her throat, and Song Li let out a hoarse sound, wanting to ask how much longer this would go on, but Jin Shiwen squeezed her shoulder before she could say anything.

"Put other matters aside for now, be obedient," his voice was low in her ear.

Song Li's heart, which had already turned cold, became even colder. She didn't want to say a word anymore, didn't want to be part of any conversation, and just quietly and slowly ate the food in front of her.

Whatever happened next, she'd wait for him to finish.

"Business dinners are just formalities, not a gathering of close friends. People at such events often speak insincerely, each with their own hidden agendas. The common interest is the alliance.

For instance, now, the Second Hospital is struggling, and Chen Geng, representing Sheng Yanxiao, invited Jin Shi for a joint acquisition. They are in discussions about it.

It was only at this moment that Song Li suddenly reacted. She doubted her ears and slowly put down her silver chopsticks. "You want to partner with Sheng's, to acquire the Second Hospital? Why?"

The impact of the restructuring on the people of Nan Yi, Jin Shiwen couldn't possibly be unaware. Song Li had always thought that Jin Shiwen was a morally upright business, not an exploitative profit-seeker.

But now, he seemed greedy and selfish, wanting to engage in such ruthless business.

Song Li suddenly felt that she had never truly understood him.

"To be precise, it's not Sheng's but a collaboration with a 'medicine' company under Sheng's name," Chen Geng, that cunning businessman, didn't hide anything. "We didn't invite Miss Song here for no reason today. We heard that the medical staff at the Second Hospital are not very cooperative. We hope Miss Song can persuade them. Once we obtain management control, you can have any position you want in the hospital."

"No need, doctors all have their qualifications, no one can just assume positions," Song Li suppressed her emotions in a calm tone.

"Li Li," Jin Shiwen pinched her hand under the table.

Chen Geng smirked, "General Jin, your little fiancée has quite the 'personality.'"

After years in the industry, one can easily decipher both direct and indirect implications. The underlying message was clear: 'You can't handle this, not even women.'

Jin Shiwen had an unwavering spirit that wouldn't allow him to be on the losing side. He smiled and said, "She's just playing around in her free time. If she gets bored, she can always quit. I can't possibly make my fiancée, an employee in the hospital."

"Jin Shiwen," Song Li called his full name out of nowhere.

Jin Shiwen turned to her, and this time, it seemed like she genuinely had a temper. He looked into her eyes and said patiently, "Alright, don't be angry with me. You've seen it today; I can't leave. I'll make it up to you some other time, okay?"

Song Li felt the air around her drop several degrees.

This person, even when he's trying to appease her, is forever insincere.

"In the end, it's because you're young and don't know how good a soft job is!" Chen Geng walked over to Song Li, carrying a glass and a bottle of sobering alcohol. He poured her a full glass.

"Young lady, it's foolish not to take shortcuts. While you're still young, if one path doesn't work, you can always try another..."

He laughed heartily with a sly glint in his eyes, insinuating something indecent.

Then, Chen Geng raised his glass, ready to make another toast with Song Li.

His gaze roamed all over her like hands, making her uncomfortable, especially drinking on an empty stomach.

Song Li couldn't stand it and brushed away the glass he offered, rejecting him. But what she didn't expect was that this sly character took the opportunity to spill the entire glass of wine on her.

He acted like it was a genuine accident.

Song Li gasped and stood up abruptly, quickly grabbing a napkin to wipe herself.

The cold liquid flowed down her neck and chest, making her entirely wet. Fortunately, her dress was a black velvet that didn't easily show watermarks.

Jin Shiwen was quick to drape his coat over Song Li. In a low voice, he said, "Director Chen, you seem a bit intoxicated."

Failing to achieve his goal, Chen Geng pretended to be embarrassed and said, "Oh, Miss Song, I'm sorry. Please wipe it away quickly..."

Song Li restrained her trembling body and struggled to breathe, as if her heart had just lost its last breath of oxygen.

She had reached her limit.

Chen Director did this on purpose, and Song Li couldn't believe Jin Shiwen couldn't see it, but he did nothing.

"Go to the restroom and freshen up. I'll have someone bring you a clean set of clothes..."

"Am I just your calculated choice?" Song Li inexplicably interrupted Jin Shiwen, abruptly breaking his words.

Jin Shiwen was taken aback, "What?"

In a moment of silence, Song Li raised her eyebrows and spoke surprisingly calmly, "You can continue drinking; I'll go to the restroom myself."

With those words, Song Li's eyes reddened, and she walked away without looking back, clutching her chest.

"Li Li—"

High heels echoed angrily on the tiles.

Song Li hadn't left the room yet when a cold, deep voice sounded, steady and commanding.

"Is this amusing to you?"

Song Li stopped abruptly, and all movement in the room came to a halt.

The man's leather shoes confidently stepped across the floor, one step at a time, each deliberate and unhurried, exuding an air of rebellion against convention.

It was a familiar voice, and after a moment of surprise, Song Li looked up like the others.

At the sight of Sheng Mu Ci, Song Li was stunned.

Sheng Mu Ci stood a few steps away from Song Li, his left hand in his pocket, his right arm hanging in front of him. His suit was casually draped, all in a forbidding black, clearly formal attire but intentionally disheveled.

His black shirt was unbuttoned at the collar, revealing sharp muscular lines, and a thin silver necklace hung down, blending sophistication with a touch of roguishness.

Song Li had never seen a man wear a suit so boldly, or rather, no matter how gentlemanly the outfit, it couldn't suppress his arrogance and savagery.

But it had to be admitted that he was quite alluring.

The chandelier cast a tall silhouette on the ground, and that deep, intense face was impossible to ignore.

Sheng Mu Ci was looking at her too.

Seeing her clutch her collar, keeping her tears at bay, her radiant makeup concealed a facade of false strength.

Their eyes met, and after an awkward pause, Song Li lowered her gaze, walked past him quickly, and left the room.

She just wanted to get out of there immediately.

As for Sheng Mu Ci's feelings at that moment, he probably couldn't even describe them himself. It was just that when she passed by, the scent of alcohol that didn't belong to her seemed to whisper her grievances to him.

Sheng Mu Ci's eyes darkened as he looked in the direction of Chen Geng, not far away.

His arrival was like an unexpected snowstorm in a clear sky, completely disrupting Chen Geng's plans.

Chen Geng hurriedly stepped forward, wearing a flattering smile, "Young Master Sheng, how did you come over here?"

Upon hearing this, Jin Shiwen suddenly realized who the newcomer was.

Jin Shiwen was not foolish, and after assessing the situation, he excused himself and went to chase after Song Li.

Jin Shiwen had just left when Xu Yan walked in.

"Third Brother, why is Dr. Song crying?"

Sheng Mu Ci dismissed it as if he hadn't heard, his black eyes cold as ice, slowly approaching Chen Geng, "Is it fun?"

Those who understood his temperament knew that he didn't repeat his words. Right now, his repetition sent shivers down Chen Geng's spine.

"Misunderstanding, you've misunderstood!" Chen Geng smiled like a loyal dog, no longer displaying his previous arrogance. "I heard you were still in the hospital, so I didn't dare to invite you..."

At that moment, Chen Geng thought it was about a secret discussion he had with the Jin family that angered Sheng Mu Ci. He repeatedly asked Sheng Mu Ci to sit and hurriedly called the waiter to add more food and wine.

Sheng Mu Ci leaned back, exuding dominance even though his right arm was bound with a recovery band, showing no sign of injury.

This heightened Chen Geng's fear.

"Regarding the matters at Nan Yi Second Hospital, right?" Sheng Mu Ci raised a long leg and leaned back in his chair. "Tell me, how's the negotiation going?"

Chen Geng was pinned down and couldn't escape. "Young Master Sheng, I came to Nanyi today because it was Mr. Sheng's suggestion..."

"My big brother's words don't work with me, understand?" Sheng Mu Ci picked up a fresh glass of wine and swirled it slowly.

Chen Geng, trembling, said, "I understand, I understand..."

Sheng Mu Ci raised his well-defined jaw, downed the wine in his hand in one gulp.

The next second, he slammed the glass hard onto the table.

A sudden, explosive sound as the tall glass shattered into countless glass shards.

Chen Geng shuddered violently, no longer daring to breathe.

Sheng Mu Ci pointed at the wine bottle in front of him, casually saying, "Pick it up and throw it inside."

With a knife at his throat, Chen Geng couldn't guess his intentions and had no choice but to comply. He trembled as he picked up the sharp glass shards and put them into the wine bottle.

"Like bullying girls, don't you?" Sheng Mu Ci spoke calmly, not in a hurry, and stood up. "Your mouth is trouble..."

He gestured to the wine bottle.

"Drink up what's inside."

The red wine mixed with glass fragments looked cruel, like blood spilling from a severed throat.

Chen Geng paled, his emotions suddenly stirred, "Young Master Sheng, swallowing this could be fatal!"

Fear gripped him because he knew that Sheng Mu Ci could carry out such a threat.

"Don't want to drink? That's fine." Sheng Mu Ci fixed his gaze on him. "You know I'm not a reasonable person, right?"

Sheng Mu Ci's eyes were cold, every syllable sharp as ice blades, slicing through Chen Geng.

"That girl from a moment ago, when you see her again, either walk around her or, I'll shut that damned mouth of yours!" Sheng Mu Ci warned, leaving Chen Geng trembling on the floor.

With a cold laugh, Sheng Mu Ci tilted his head.

Behind him, Xu Yan approached and said, "Third Brother."

"Help Chief Chen learn a lesson."

In a chilling statement, Sheng Mu Ci removed his coat, slung it over his shoulder, and walked towards the door.

It had been too long since he had been in a fight, and he felt invigorated. Xu Yan eagerly complied and rolled up his sleeves, ready to climb up.

Song Li sat in the hotel lobby, not leaving.

The decor was luxurious, with a huge domed ceiling and crystal chandeliers that bathed the room in bright light. Every detail showed lavish spending, and the potted plants by the sofa looked like artworks worth a substantial sum.

She kept her head down, quietly contemplating. What was her place in all of this?

Song Li once read a sentence from Mr. Yang Jiang: "No matter what the relationship, when affection is exhausted, fate reaches its end."

She said, "Let's part with courtesy and give ourselves back to ourselves."

Song Li gradually understood the wisdom of this sentence. As adults, even if they couldn't walk further, they could at least part amicably...

The left side of the sofa suddenly sank, and Song Li looked up and saw Jin Shiwen.

He gently patted her back and whispered, "Let's talk about it when we get back; don't be angry with me out here."

Song Li looked at him and said quietly, "It's quite cold today."

"Want to change your clothes?" Jin Shiwen responded flatly without much thought.

Seemingly accustomed to his responses, Song Li had unwittingly learned to accept them without much emotion. She continued, "I remember you promised that you'd have time for me today."

Jin Shiwen sighed in resignation and didn't want to argue further. "Fine, I broke my promise. Tomorrow..."

"This is quite boring."

Jin Shiwen paused, looking intently at her.

Song Li didn't avert her gaze from his and continued, "To be honest, I'm quite disappointed. I started out just wanting you to be more considerate, but now I realize... this relationship might not be worth it."

Her voice carried a slight hoarseness, indicating a hidden trace of tears.

She had indeed felt wronged earlier, and he hadn't come out to defend her for the greater good. Jin Shiwen had no good response.

"If you don't like social gatherings, you don't have to come in the future. You have the final say," he conceded.

Song Li softly said, "Jin Shiwen, the moon doesn't suddenly rise, and the sun never suddenly sets."

Jin Shiwen pursed his lips, his eyes fixed on her face. "What do you mean?"

"I'm very grateful for your care, but we're not a good match," Song Li slowly met his eyes, "Let's end it here."

Jin Shiwen frowned, his face tense. "Song Li, don't be too hasty."

"I'm not being impulsive."

Jin Shiwen continued to gaze at her unwaveringly. "If you take back what you just said, I'll pretend I didn't hear it."

He was always like this, treating love as if he were raising a cat, and expecting everything to go his way. Su Tangnian was right; there was no need to have expectations from such a chauvinistic man.

Song Li shook her head, "I'm not impulsive."

Jin Shiwen, impatiently, looked away, staring at the ground. After a long pause, he suddenly spoke.

"Lili, do you remember what you told me when we first got together?" Jin Shiwen had never thought that she, being so obedient, would want to end it. "You said you liked me when you were studying."

"Yeah, I remember," a bitter smile touched Song Li's lips. "I did have a crush on you when I was studying."

Jin Shiwen listened in silence.

"Before I moved in with your family, I was in Beijing, I was five years old, and... my father, his wife, she... quietly abandoned me outside. I had a brother who helped me contact the police station, and that's how I ended up in your home."

"At that time, you knew I was afraid of the dark, and you would always accompany me home no matter how late it was. But now, you've even forgotten about my mango allergy."

"Aunt Jin often says that relationships need to be worked on, and she asks me to be more understanding of you. I understand that. Do you know, I wait for you every day, waiting for your messages, waiting for you to have time to be with me, even if it's just occasionally picking me up after work."

Song Li lowered her head, her tears warmed, wetting her delicate eyelashes, falling one by one.

"But your time... it never seems to come to me."

"I didn't lie to you, Jin Shiwen," Song Li closed her eyes briefly, "But you... really don't like me that much."

It was the first time Jin Shiwen had seen her cry like this.

At the time, she had makeup on her face, it was for taking wedding photos with him, red lips, black dress, exuding a beauty rarely seen in the past.

She was truly well-mannered, like a wounded little animal, her tone gentle, not letting herself cry out loud.

Every time Song Li spoke, Jin Shiwen's face darkened a bit.

Don't you like her that much?

Not really, but he had nothing to say.

"You can't change, and I don't want to wait anymore, that's it." Song Li wiped the tears from her chin with her hand and stood up.

She firmly said, "Let's break up."

She had expressed what was in her heart, and this belated farewell was coming to an end. Song Li said "goodbye" to him one last time and turned around.

"Song Li!" Jin Shiwen stood up, his tone filled with anger and warning.

Suddenly, Jin Shiwen fell silent.

With her back turned, Song Li stopped in her tracks, and Jin Shiwen's gaze passed over her slender shoulder and saw the man a few steps away.

He was swinging his coat over his shoulder, and the dazzling crystal light scattered behind him.

In the next instant, he took a step and walked over.
