Chapter 16: Don't call me Mr. again

Note: I'll be changing "Sheng Mu Ci" to "Sheng Muci"

-

At dusk, the orange-lit area was empty. Only Sheng Muci was leaning there, exhaling the frost.

The girl got into the car and left.

With flushed cheeks and a choked voice, she left behind a few words and fled.

Her fleeing figure was quite cute, hands in her pockets, taking small, quick steps.

But the truth is, a single word could have brought her back.

This reminded Sheng Mucí of that night in the bedroom when she had similarly run away in embarrassment.

Thinking of this, Sheng Mucí suddenly burst into laughter.

A handsome green off-road vehicle arrived, and the car window rolled down.

"Third Brother, that person surnamed Jin should be honest now!" Xu Yan, feeling triumphant, looked around.

"Where's Dr. Song?"

Sheng Mucí got in the car and replied, "Don't worry about her."

Xu Yan was surprised, finding it hard to understand. After all, who doesn't make plans for New Year's Eve? It's the perfect time to rebound from a breakup!

Unfortunately, he dared not speak.

He drove the car out of the hospital and Xu Yan finally asked, "So, where are we going now? Back to the villa?"

"What else?" Sheng Mucí replied.

"How about celebrating the New Year, Third Brother? For instance... going to the mountaintop and soaking in a hot spring?"

Sheng Muci turned his face towards the window, non-committal.

Xu Yan was reining in his wild side, following Sheng Muci's lead to be more reserved. However, during this big holiday, he couldn't let loose and have fun, which truly left him itching.

"Third Brother, you see how exhausted I was recently, running around abroad for that matter. Now that I have some free time, I should relax," Xu Yan sighed. Despite knowing it was useless, he still said, "This place, Nanga Mountain, is indeed nice."

Nanga Mountain?

Sheng Muci's gaze shifted, finally reacting at that moment.

"Where is it?"

Seeing that he seemed interested, Xu Yan's heart leaped with joy, and he became enthusiastic, "Nanga Mountain! I wonder how enjoyable it would be to soak in the hot springs of the southern snow-capped mountains."

"Shall we go, Third Brother?"

Sheng Muci couldn't help but think of the image of the young girl running towards the various men and cars from before.

After a brief silence, he said with a casual tone,

"Sure."

-

The sports car sped in the direction of Nanga Mountain.

Song Li, sitting quietly in the back seat, was quite comfortable in the warm car. She felt drowsy and wanted to take a nap. Suddenly, the voice of Sheng Muci saying, "You're quite wild, little sister," replays in her mind.

Her heart skipped a beat, and she suddenly became more alert.

Song Li couldn't understand why her most undignified appearance was always seen by that man. Sometimes, fate can be so annoying.

She's about to burst into tears!

"Little one." Su Tangnian, sitting in the front passenger seat, suddenly turned around. "Who were you just talking to a while ago?"

Song Li's breathing falters, and she responds, "...just a patient."

"His face wasn't very clear, but his legs were truly exceptional! He looked so handsome!" Su Tangnian had a weakness for handsome guys and couldn't help showing an infatuated expression.

Song Li brushed it off. "He was okay."

Was he really just 'okay'?

Can he not be handsome?

He's the man who, as you say, Liu Chuyu, jumped out of the coffin to enjoy his company.

But Song Li had no intention of telling her. If Su Tangnian found out that the person was Sheng Muci, she would definitely persistently ask about their relationship.

Song Li had no idea how to explain it.

That "someone else's girlfriend" statement made Song Li's attitude towards Sheng Muci quite complicated now.

She didn't plan to mention what happened with Jin Shiwen tonight.

In the end, she and Jin Shiwen had reached a point where they couldn't stand each other, and their relationship was beyond repair. They wouldn't be celebrating happy occasions together.

The group of eight people arrived at Nanga Mountain two hours later.

Initially, Song Li was a bit nervous about meeting these people she hadn't seen in a while, although they were Su Tangnian's friends, they were old acquaintances.

Song Li's personality was the opposite of Su Tangnian. If Su Tangnian was a lively day, then Song Li was a quiet and tranquil night.

These men all seemed well-off, cultured, confident, talkative, sunny, and had various personalities, but they were all exceptionally well-mannered gentlemen.

Song Li was a bit shy and hardly spoke.

However, they would often initiate conversations to avoid putting her in an awkward situation.

Their interactions, full of laughter and chatter, made Song Li quickly blend in.

It cannot be denied that a girl as lovely as Song Li is especially likable to men. Her gentleness seems to be contagious, and in her presence, even the most intense personalities turn soft-spoken, as if speaking loudly might disturb her.

But Song Li knew herself.

She just finds it odd, as she is treated with such courtesy, as if she has become the center of attention, and they care for her in every detail.

Before being with Jin Shiwen, Song Li had been focused on her studies. After being with Jin Shiwen, Song Li maintained her distance from the opposite sex.

She had never been like tonight, mingling with men.

Surprisingly... it didn't feel right.

The car drove on the mountain road for a long time, and Song Li was lost in thought, then suddenly heard Su Tangnian's excited exclamation from the front seat.

One of the brothers in the car reminded her, "Song Song, look out the window."

Song Li instinctively turned her head.

As the altitude increased, the snow on the road to the mountaintop became thicker and thicker. Large flakes of snow fell from the night sky, gleaming under the lights. The forest was covered in silver, looking like crystal sculptures, and the whole world was white.

It was rare for Nan Yi to have such heavy snow.

Song Li leaned over to the window, gazing in awe.

Coincidentally, a jeep drove past right in front of her.

Through the glass, it was not very clear to see the car on the snowy night. When Song Li wanted to observe more closely, the car had driven far away.

Song Li was momentarily stunned.

She wasn't sure if she had made a mistake.

...

The car drove to the mountain-top hot spring hotel.

On this trip, Su Tangnian had prepared everything very thoroughly, and Song Li didn't need to bring anything. After having dinner at the hotel restaurant and resting for a while, they agreed to go soak in the hot spring.

After all, it was New Year's Eve, and the rooms with private hot spring pools had been booked early, so they had to use the public hot spring pools. The public hot spring pools were unique, surrounded by snow-covered mountains.

However, Song Li was not used to it. The swimsuit Su Tangnian had prepared for her was a long-sleeved short skirt, which was relatively conservative but very form-fitting, emphasizing her curves.

After changing into the swimsuit, Song Li hesitated for a while before Su Tangnian finally pulled her out of the room.

Honestly, those handsome guys, from their appearance to their physique, looked very impressive in their swim trunks as they soaked in the hot spring. It was indeed a pleasant sight.

The hot spring water was steaming, and Song Li was feeling embarrassed being surrounded by these men, chatting and laughing in a corner by the stone wall. She wished she could bury her entire face in the water.

At that moment, Song Li understood the feelings of Princess Liu Chuyu.

With so many handsome men lounging around half-naked in front of her, smiling gently, it was a seductive and heartwarming scene. Who could resist it? Stop! It's making her blush!

Wuwuwu...

Song Li felt that if she stayed there any longer, she would turn into a bad girl.

After soaking for a while, Song Li, using the excuse of the heat, went to the glass room next to the hot spring to rest, and then hurriedly left the pool.

The glass room was right next to the hot spring pool.

As the name suggested, it was a glass-sided building for bathers to relax and enjoy the scenery.

The glass pavilion had two floors. The first floor was an entertainment and leisure area with sauna rooms, and it was crowded.

Song Li wanted some peace and quiet, so she wrapped herself in a towel and went upstairs.

On the second floor, there was a bright white piano, and the hallway was adorned with rosy pink roses. There were two recliners by the floor-to-ceiling windows, offering a view of the layered glass with snow outside.

Only a dim, warm light was on, adding an atmosphere and a touch of romance.

After spending a long time in the busy hospital, Song Li couldn't resist the allure of this tranquil environment and instantly fell in love with it.

But it was only when she approached that she noticed someone had occupied one of the recliners.

The person was dressed in a black men's bathrobe from the hotel. Song Li stood behind him and could only see his face. He reclined with one leg crossed over the other, tapping his foot rhythmically on the ground.

The posture was somewhat lazy and a little wild.

A familiar feeling flashed by for a moment.

But at that moment, Song Li didn't dwell on it, fearing she might be impolite. She politely asked, "Hello, is anyone here?"

The man didn't immediately respond to her.

After about seven or eight seconds of silence, just as Song Li was about to speak again, she heard a faint sigh from the man.

The eerily similar voice made Song Li's heart tremble, and her thoughts spun wildly.

At that moment, the man's hoarse voice spoke.

"Lie down."

"..."

Song Li stood there in shock, her heart beating intensely.

The man, who had been lying with his head against the headrest, turned his face towards her, raised his drooping eyes, and looked at her with a smirk. "What are you staring at?"

Meeting those captivating peach blossom eyes and the handsome face, Song Li took a while to come to her senses.

It turned out she hadn't been mistaken when she saw that off-road vehicle driving halfway up the mountain.

"How... are you... here?" She was still in shock and finally managed to ask.

Sheng Muci replied, glanced downstairs, and then turned his gaze back to her, saying meaningfully, "Am I not allowed to come if you're hanging out with handsome guys?"

Following his meaningful gaze, Song Li suddenly realized that the view from here was expansive, overlooking the public hot spring pool below, making it all too clear.

So, she and a group of men soaking in the hot spring, was it all visible?

"..."

The heart that Song Li had just calmed down began to race again.

"Song Song."

Suddenly, a gentle voice came from the entrance.

Following the sound, Song Li turned and saw the refined and elegant man walking towards her. He was the older brother who had come with her, named Fu Chen.

"You're here; it makes it easier for me to find you." Fu Chen handed her a cup of warm milk tea. "We're going to set off fireworks at midnight; make sure you rest up and join us."

Song Li accepted the milk tea, nodded obediently, and said, "Thank you, Brother Fu Chen."

Sheng Muci continued to tap his foot with his left leg.

The rhythm seemed impatient, giving off an arrogant and defiant vibe.

For some inexplicable reason, Song Li dared to speak.

Fu Chen noticed the man on the recliner and asked Song Li, "Do you know him?"

Song Li contemplated for a moment, carefully choosing her words, and replied in a low voice, "...familiar."

Fu Chen smiled and didn't press further.

After telling Song Li to call him if needed, Fu Chen left.

As soon as the person left, Sheng Muci lazily mumbled, "How many good brothers do you actually have?"

"..."

Song Li bit her lip, hesitating between explaining or not. Suddenly, the milk tea in her hand was snatched away by someone.

Sheng Muci took a sip and then placed the cup of milk tea on the table with a displeased expression, saying, "What is this stuff? It's awful."

Song Li was left empty-handed and dumbfounded.

Why is he always so unapologetic? Always acting like he's the emperor!

Song Li puffed up her cheeks in frustration and mumbled, "That was meant for me."

Sheng Muci maintained his casual tone and said, "Didn't you say you were going to treat me to a meal? Start by handing over the milk tea."

"..."

How did he manage to steal a cup of milk tea first?

Song Li, unafraid to speak her mind, said, "Oh" with a sarcastic tone.

Sheng Mu Ci raised his gaze and looked at her.

She had just come out of the hot spring not long ago. Her cheeks were flushed with a rosy hue, and her skin was delicate and tender. The small red mole on her nose made her look innocent. A few wet strands of hair clung to her swan-like neck. Her swimsuit was wrapped in a white towel, revealing a glimpse of a honey-colored skirt, and below that were her slender, white legs.

Pure and with a hint of charm, it seemed like she was attracting attention everywhere.

After a moment, he casually returned his gaze and said, "I haven't had dinner yet, and I'm very hungry."

Song Li pouted and sulked in secret.

"Is that so?"

"Well, I'm quite full."

Sheng Muci: "..."

Suddenly, he chuckled and patted the lounge chair next to him. "The ground is slippery."

Although Song Li was willing, she still wanted to look upset, so she walked over with brisk steps and sat down.

She pretended not to look at him and asked, "Mr. Sheng, is there something you want?"

Sheng Muci was still reclining lazily, silently pondering her use of "Mr. Sheng" now compared to her previous "Familiar."

For a moment, there was silence, and then suddenly he said, "Recite with me."

Song Li looked at him with confusion.

"Sheng," he enunciated clearly.

Song Li was puzzled but saw his serious expression. She hesitated and said, "Sheng."

"Mu."

"Mu..."

"Ci."

She felt something was off and stammered, "Cí."

Sheng Mucí's face regained its former nonchalant expression as he nodded in satisfaction and prompted her, "Put them together."

"..." She opened her mouth, "Sheng..."

She stuttered halfway, struggling with the second word. Song Li finally managed to say it, biting her lip," Mr. Sheng."

That flowed quite smoothly.

Sheng Mucí had a rare expression and used his index finger to lightly tap Song Li's smooth forehead, "Don't call me 'Mr.' anymore."

"Um..." Caught off guard, Song Li held her forehead in pain, her eyes wide open, "It's a matter of politeness."

Her tone was a mix of annoyance and timidity.

Sheng Mucí propped his elbow on his knee and sat up a bit.

Tilting his head, he calmly asked her, "What did you just call out?" With a flirtatious smirk, he said, "Put it together."
