Chapter 15: She is now someone else's girlfriend.

After waiting for a long time, the car window rolled down.

Xu Yan stuck his head out and asked the person smoking outside, "Third Brother, if everything is already settled, why is Sheng Yanxiao still able to live peacefully for a few days, and why are we here at the hospital?"

Amidst the drifting smoke, Sheng Mu Ci knocked the ash off his cigarette without responding.

"Let's find a place to celebrate the new year," Xu Yan leaned on the car frame, swiping his phone's screen, and an excited expression gradually lit up his face. "This forest park has something to offer. The mountaintop is covered in snow, and there are hot springs. It sounds awesome! Third Brother, can't we give it a try?"

"Shut up," came a low warning tone.

Xu Yan fell silent abruptly.

Sheng Mu Ci raised his hand, took a drag from his cigarette, and exhaled, a bluish-white cloud of smoke billowing in front, blurring the scene.

Only then did Xu Yan stay, his third brother never looked away, staring at a certain spot.

The night was cold, and the parking lot was nearly deserted.

Following his gaze, Xu Yan quickly spotted the two indistinct figures standing in front of the Cayenne.

Perhaps due to their high recognizability, Xu Yan recognized them at a glance: it was Dr. Song and her fiancé, the CEO.

Xu Yan's heart tightened, and he immediately observed Sheng Mu Ci's expression.

Profile: cold and tough.

Eyes: icy.

Suddenly, Xu Yan remembered the night before his third brother was discharged, the intimacy with Dr. Song in the bedroom.

Entangled in desire, flirting and playing... It's really damn fun.

That scene, even now, recalling it makes it difficult not to feel that sensation burning inside, very scorching.

Usually, his brother didn't even bother to look twice at the women who threw themselves at him, so Xu Yan thought he was genuinely chaste.

But not this time.

He was exclusively interested in Dr. Song!

Xu Yan could relate, Dr. Song was undeniably beautiful, but in a unique way, with a gentle and timid aura, not aggressive, and alluring in an understated manner.

He fell in love at first sight.

But when he caught Dr. Song taking wedding photos, he withdrew in time.

Although that surnamed Jin isn't particularly exciting, in any case, one still needs to uphold moral values.

You definitely can't do anything about Third brother's business!

"Third Brother..." Xu Yan observed Sheng Mu Ci's reaction carefully and cautiously reminded, "Dr. Song has a boyfriend."

Sheng Mu Ci turned his face slightly, giving him a nonchalant look.

His eyes conveyed three implied messages:

In Xu Yan's gaze, there were three implied messages.

- So what if she has one?

- I've always liked it when they have boyfriends.

- It's exciting.

Xu Yan had long noticed that something was off with these two. After some mental gymnastics, he began to worry that their secretive relationship might destroy two families.

He tried to convey subtly and earnestly, "Dr. Song is about to get married, and you two have already done what needed to be done. There's no way around it, so forget about it..."

Sheng Mu Ci leaned his arm on the car, listened for a couple of seconds, then took a drag from his cigarette without responding.

However, this didn't deter Xu Yan from continuing to talk. He was so distressed that he was pulling at his hair, gritting his teeth, "You're at an age when youthful indiscretions are understandable, but this situation is something that should remain in the dark. Third Brother, the affair you had in Nan Yi should be left behind."

If you keep this up, you'll truly become a homewrecker! Your lifelong reputation will be ruined!

Sheng Mu Ci still didn't speak, only frowned and turned back, his disdainful gaze resembling how one would look at a fool.

Realizing that something was off in the atmosphere, Xu Yan took a deep breath, lowered his voice, and daringly asked, "The two of you that night... um, did you take precautions?"

Upon hearing this, Sheng Mu Ci seemed to understand what was on this guy's mind.

His thought process was indeed quite peculiar.

He chuckled lightly and redirected his gaze towards the girl.

It had been a while since he'd seen her, and from a distance, she appeared much warmer than when he had last seen her, wearing a sweater, boots, and a white down jacket, revealing a glimpse of a short skirt.

Her chin was tucked into a fluffy collar, making her look like a dumpling, but her slender figure was still evident.

Suddenly, he recalled the words he had teased her with when he was in the hospital, saying, "Having a girlfriend is not a problem." He had playfully provoked her then.

But now, thinking about it...

It might actually be okay.

Sheng Mu Ci licked the corner of his mouth, his eyes narrowed as he smiled abruptly.

This surprised Xu Yan greatly. "Third brother..."

"I'm not trying to argue with you..."

He wanted to advise him not to be foolish, but before Xu Yan could finish his sentence, he was abruptly interrupted by a voice that came out of nowhere.

He turned his head in the direction of the voice.

"Jin Shiwen, I've made all the concessions I can. This is the best result. If you think it's too casual, then let's have a serious discussion about breaking up again."

Song Li had always spoken gently, and it was rare to hear her sound so forceful. It was clear she was getting impatient.

"Song Li," the man called her name with a deep, slightly gritted tone. "I came here today not to see you continue to play around. Even if you lack sensibility, there should be a limit. I've taken care of you comfortably in my house for so many years. Have I done so in vain?"

Song Li said, "I appreciate the support you've provided over these past ten years, and I've repaid every cent I spent while I was with you. But we..."

"I've come to find you personally, what more do you want?" Jin Shiwen interrupted her. "Recognize when to stop. Don't push your luck like your mother."

Suddenly, Song Li fell silent.

She trembled slightly and asked, "What did you just say?"

"You just wanted me to pay more attention to you, right?" Jin Shiwen continued. "You achieved your goal. Don't imitate your mother anymore. Who are you pretending for?"

A sharp, crisp slap rang out in the midst of the winter night, and the world momentarily fell silent.

"I..." Xu Yan suddenly covered his mouth, suppressing the curse that was about to escape, and muttered through his fingers, "Damn!"

He hadn't expected Song Li, a delicate young girl, to be so formidable. The slap she delivered rang loudly, and it resonated even from a distance.

However, Song Li and Mr. Jin were arguing, so did that mean... Third brother had a chance now?

This young lover was really seizing the opportunity amid the chaos!

Xu Yan quickly glanced at someone.

Sheng Mu Ci leaned against the car door, looking casual as ever, but there was a different emotion in his eyes, as if he were shrouded in a heavy shadow. After a moment, he clenched the cigarette butt with his lips and took one last deep drag.

In a cloud of smoke, Sheng Mu Ci straightened up, extinguishing the cigarette against a stone pillar. He ran his tongue over his teeth, flexed his wrist, and walked straight in that direction.

It took Xu Yan a full half-minute to react.

He hastily pushed open the car door and chased after them...

...

Song Li's eyes turned red, and her chest heaved with anger.

Even in her desperation, she had never expected the person in front of her to utter such insulting words, tearing apart the last shreds of their dignity.

She fixed her gaze firmly on Jin Shiwen, who had turned his face away.

"Do not defame my mother. She's not like that." Song Li's eyes welled up with tears, and she suppressed her trembling voice. "Jin Shiwen, why won't you let me go? Have I done anything to wrong you in this relationship?"

Jin Shiwen touched his cheek where she had left a mark, wincing.

He used to like the gentle and obedient Song Li, accustomed to her always speaking to him in a soft and tender tone, not like now, where she was confrontational and distant, questioning him.

Thinking back to the night at the bar, Jin Shiwen remembered overhearing those people openly discussing their relationships, boasting about their girlfriends being slender-waisted and curvy, making explicit comments, and mocking him for being too pure, unable to satisfy his girlfriend.

That night, Jin Shiwen had wanted her, with a tinge of resentment in his mind.

But she unexpectedly pushed him away.

"What's the use if you don't let me touch you?" Jin Shiwen sneered, his eyes filled with rage. His emotions spiraled out of control, and he couldn't stop himself from yelling, "You might as well be someone else's girlfriend!"

In the cold wind, Song Li stared at Jin Shiwen in disbelief.

He was beyond redemption, and there was no need for an amicable breakup anymore.

Let him vent, and Song Li stubbornly held back her tears, silently turning to leave.

However, Jin Shiwen grabbed her shoulder and held onto her arm, refusing to let her go. "Song Li."

"Let go!" Song Li sobbed, desperately struggling in despair.

Although he didn't have deep feelings for her, he wouldn't release her. Song Li couldn't fathom what Jin Shiwen truly wanted.

All she knew was that, in an instant, a dark figure appeared out of nowhere.

Before she could even recognize who it was, Song Li heard a muffled grunt and witnessed Jin Shiwen being violently knocked to the ground by an unexpected punch.

Freed from the restraints, Song Li steadied herself with unsteady steps.

The air suddenly carried a faint smell of tobacco. She looked up and saw the silhouette standing in front of her.

A casual black jacket, a tall figure exuding arrogance and toughness - the silhouette was unmistakably familiar.

Song Li's startled heart stirred.

The situation suddenly escalated, and Jin Shiwen clearly didn't recognize the newcomer. He fell heavily, his mouth bleeding, a mixture of spit and blood.

Jin Shiwen groaned in pain, struggling to get up from the ground, and muttered a curse under his breath.

Just as he was about to see who it was, another person stepped forward and kicked him in the chest, knocking him back to the ground.

"Beijing's Third Sheng!"

Xu Yan stood with his hands on his hips, looking imposing, and stared down at Jin Shiwen, taunting, "You fool, haven't you heard?"

Song Li, who had been observing from the sidelines, finally turned her head and looked at the person she hadn't seen in a long time.

Their eyes met, and it was really him.

Song Li stood there in a daze, her eyes moist, tears welling up.

Sheng Mu Ci glanced at her, curled his lips, and said the first words of farewell, "Shall I help you again?"

He still had the same old attitude, a nonchalant tone.

Song Li, with a wet face, looked at him with skin as soft as tofu, lost in thought, like a lost kitten.

She forgot to think, and she also forgot to answer.

Sheng Mu Ci didn't ask her to respond, he casually turned to Jin Shiwen and said, "She's someone else's girlfriend now."

Under Jin Shiwen's astonished gaze, Sheng Mu Ci shook his recently exercised right wrist and took a slow step closer.

He laughed, but his lowered eyes were cold. "If you touch her again, it won't be as simple as a punch."

Sheng Mu Ci had an uninhibited demeanor, left his words, hooked his arm around Song Li's shoulder, and led her away.

Neither of them spoke, remaining silent.

They walked a short distance in confusion. A gust of wind hit them, and Song Li shivered from the cold, snapping her out of her daze.

She lowered her waist, quickly escaping from his embrace.

"Just now..." Song Li's voice was soft, tinged with unfamiliarity after not seeing him for a long time, making her avoid eye contact, "Thank you, Mr. Sheng."

With his arms empty, Sheng Mu Ci raised an eyebrow slightly and slid his hands into his pockets, examining her closely after many days.

In front of him, a streetlight illuminated the girl standing beside him. A beam of light shone on her, and white dust particles floated in the dimness, finely drifting in the cold wind.

She had a bun-like hairstyle, damp eyelashes, a fair complexion, and her entire chin was buried in thick, soft white fur, making the dust particles seem like shattered snowflakes.

She looked quite... restrained and adorable.

Sheng Mu Ci lowered his head and smiled. Seemingly, he asked her, "Do I not have a name?"

Song Li had always been unable to guess his thoughts. A direct response seemed foolish, but she cautiously looked at him and couldn't discern the depth of his words.

"You just... hit him." Song Li hesitated and shifted the topic, her voice light but with a noticeable nasal tone, sounding as tender as a child speaking.

Sheng Mu Ci first appreciated her voice and then looked at her, saying, "So what?"

Not willing to see your ex-boyfriend get beaten up?

However, this girl lowered her voice and asked, "Is your hand okay?"

It had to be admitted that this question was somewhat comforting.

Sheng Mu Ci raised the corner of his mouth silently. "If it's not okay, will you treat me to dinner?"

Perhaps bewildered by Jin Shiwen, Song Li completely failed to realize that he was setting a trap for her.

She even felt embarrassed, "Another day... Is that okay?"

Seeing this, Sheng Mu Ci leaned lazily against a lamppost and lazily asked her, "Who are you meeting tonight?"

"Friends, for New Year's Eve."

"Are they male or female?"

For some reason, Song Li hesitated for a moment before saying, "Both."

Sheng Mu Ci squinted his peach blossom eyes. "Where are you going?"

Do you need to know everything?

Song Li didn't really want to say, but she suddenly remembered his hoarse, playful tone when he said something to Jin Shiwen.

—She was now someone else's girlfriend.

What did he mean by that?

Song Li couldn't be sure, but she felt her heart beating erratically in this moment, like a helium balloon slipping out of control, flying away, and impossible to catch.

She pursed her lips and said softly, "Nanga Mountain."

Just as she spoke, two Ferrari sports cars roared by in front of her, one red and one yellow, drawing attention.

Song Li was baffled. Who would be so conspicuous in the hospital parking lot? In just a few seconds, two cars synchronized their movements and reversed with a "whoosh," returning to her.

In the passenger seat of one of the cars, Su Tangnian stuck her head out, perhaps not noticing someone in black beside Song Li. He waved excitedly without any reservations. "My kid! The handsome guys are ready! Let's go, let's go!"

Song Li: "..."

The car windows were all rolled down, and at least six big men were in the two cars. Su Tangnian was right—there were older brothers, younger brothers, and all kinds of types. The scene of them smiling and waving at her was something Song Li would probably never forget in her life.

It felt like having a palace of male pets.

Song Li stood frozen in place.

The person beside her made a faint, disapproving sound and said, "Tsk, you're quite wild when I'm not around, huh, little sister?"
